What was made up about the fall of the Berlin Wall? Let's assume the Western media did try, as best as it could, to picture the situation in their favor. But to what degree is that possible? Maybe they only showed/interviewed people who were happy about the wall's fall, maybe they only showed footage of the least-appealing things in East Berlin. All the dishonest tactics you can imagine, and surely there were people who were not happy about the fall.
Or maybe they completely fabricated the footage. Well, this would be a completely obvious lie, since they could check if that was true by going to the actual place, so surely it did fall. Or maybe, the wall did fall, but the situation looked to be in favor of East Berlin, so they still fabricated the footage to present a favorable narrative to the Western public. People risking (and many times losing) their lives to run through armed checkpoints to escape the crushing poverty and oppression of communism is very well documented. It established one of the puppet governments and was as heavy on the propaganda as the soviets. The West poured money into West Berlin for propaganda purposes. Many of the Germans in both the East and West had Nazi sympathies and were not happy being ruled over by the Reds.
