So I am not homeless but I like to search through trash cans to see what kind of goodies I can find. On more than one occasion I have found banknotes, usually I find a lot of sweets and food still in the packaging. There is this homeless lady who seems to live right outside the door of a convenience store and whenever she seems me she gives me free food that is unopened (presumably on the assumption that I am homeless too). It has me wondering how she is able to just give away maybe $10 worth of food each time I see her though. This is all, of course, in exchange for nothing. Do you think it might be shoplifted?

Where I live it used to be very common for people that didn't have enough money to sort through stuff thrown away by grocery stores until the grocery stores started locking their trash bins.

The past 30 years have been particularly hard because of the housing, insurance, education, credit scams, but on TV everything is GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAT! The GREATEST ECONOMY YOU'VE EVER SEEN! I don't see anyone I went to school with anymore, the last time I saw one they looked really sad. They're probably mostly dead.

Don't worry everyone, we have professional tap dancers leading the economy instead of actual economists.

Most of the original American population is dead in just a half a century, btw.

We're passed the point where the USA can fully recover within the next 5 centuries or so.

You can shoplift in communist areas like Calinornia at least until the store closes down from loss of money.

Be careful about going thru bins: someone might have thrown a needle in there that you can't see. It's a common thing. You could get stuck and get HIV or Hep C. Also, glass might have broken and made glass dust. The big pieces might be at the bottom, but the dust is all over everything. You can't see it, but if it's on food you eat it will shred your insides and blood will pour out your asshole.

If you want odd stuff or things on the cheap look to thrift stores or garage sales.
