Which steps do you take to ensure yourself a safe internet experience in your day to day life?
- at hardware level ? (e.g. GPS, molded USB slots, tamper-proof or tamper-evident cases, safes)
- at OS level ? (e.g. open source OS, firmware disallowed in the kernel, hardening)
- at browser level? (e.g. hardening, extensions)
- at behavioural analysis level? (e.g. social websites, online bookmarking, "cloud", accounts shared across multple devices)
- at autism level? (e.g. faraday cages, aluminium papers everywhere, reclusive lifestyle)
- other "best practices"

I turn off GPS if I don't need it.
Keep my hardware with me at all times when going somewhere.

free software OSs and software only. Keep it minimal, reduce attack surface. Lock my device every time I'm about to get my hands off it. Set everything up so it is safest (changing retarded defaults to sane ones, etc.)
>- at browser level? (e.g. hardening, extensions)
Tor Browser on safest security level, no javascript allowed. Setting preferences options accordingly.
>- at behavioural analysis level? (e.g. social websites, online bookmarking, "cloud", accounts shared across multple devices)
Don't use social websites, online bookmarking, "cloud", accounts shared across multple devices
>- at autism level? (e.g. faraday cages, aluminium papers everywhere, reclusive lifestyle)
reclusive lifestyle
>- other "best practices"
Only use hardware that is not affected by hardware-level backdoors and other problems, like intel me.

>at hardware level
I use a Google Pixel and keep it with me at all times. I also use a fairly new laptop.

>at OS level
GrapheneOS for mobile and Windows 11 for desktop. For my phone, I only install the apps I need and use the browser as much as possible. I always lock my devices when I leave them. For Windows, I use official documentation to disable telemetry and stay away from third-party antispying tools and antivirus.

>at browser level
On desktop, I use Microsoft Edge since it utilizes Microsoft Defender Application Guard. I do not install any browser extensions. I also use Tor Browser to visit onionsites like this.

On mobile, I use Vanadium.

>at behavioural analysis level
I don't use social media. I use Bitwarden, ProtonMail, ProtonDrive, etc.

>at autism level
I'm not paranoid about telemetry.

>other "best practices"
Do not be paranoid about telemetry and "spyware". Only install software from trusted vendors like Google and Microsoft. Only visit websites you know and trust.

I still use Windows 7 and I've yet to be hacked and realize it!
